River Academy

Who We Are

River Academy is a registered charity in Singapore.

We cater for children from less priviledged homes who may not have the means to access to quality learning facilitations and environments.

River Academy strives to help children from K1 to P6 to aim higher in their lives and achieve what they have never imagined possible for themselves. Our approach is through high-quality pedagogy delivered by professionals of diverse fields to inspire the children at a young age, planting the seeds of courage and self-belief that they can succeed in their lives regardless of their background.

Using the Reggio-Emilia pedagogy, the child acts as the leader and is the centre of their learning. The River Academy's team, with the group of professional volunteers, supports and facilitates that journey. Through music, visual art, science, drama, poetry etc., the children learn to express their ideas and explore new frontiers.

Through peer-mentorship approach, the children are kept motivated and excited.

Children, parents, volunteers, and the broader community are integral to the design of our programmes.

Our Children, Our Parents, Our Academy

β€œThe project benefitted my son because he loved to attend the Saturday programmes. He learnt about the history of Singapore and the environment. He also loves the cello. I notice he has become independent. He can do things himself and always tells me what is going on in the centre and he is so cheerful and excited when he talks about it.”
