“The children I meet on Saturdays at Block 109 Kebun Baru are very intelligent. They are also caring. I am sure they will grow up to be confident and flourish in their own ways.

We are building up these children’s confidence and character. This is more important than their academic results.

My 2 children (aged 28 and 25) are so independent. They learned the same way as the children in the  Block 109 project.

The children in the 109 project travel on MRT trains, walk 3 – 4 km every Saturday. They love fruits. And they have fun in the outdoor learning adventures.

Sometimes I get tired, but the children have so much energy and don’t get tired because they are enjoying themselves.  And they are learning- how many MRT station stops, how much time will the train take to travel, which line to take and change at which station and line. They also plan the following week’s exploration.

We listen to their requests and questions and we respond

because we treat our children with respect.
